These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Termin.world (the "Service"), operated under the Termin.world brand ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country of residence) to use the Service and/or purchase a subscription.
Users aged 13–17 (or older, depending on jurisdiction) may only use Termin.world with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Termin.world does not knowingly provide paid services to children under 13.
By using Termin.world, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that all information you provide is accurate.
2. Description of the Service
Termin.world is a digital subscription-based service that provides tools and features for learning and practicing foreign language vocabulary.
The Service is offered on a freemium basis, with both free and paid subscription plans available.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
3. Subscription Plans
3.1 Available Plans
Basic (Free)
- Free of charge
- Limited access to selected features
PRO (Paid)
- Full access to all available features
- Available billing periods:
- 1 Month (billed monthly)
- 3 Months (billed every 3 months)
- 12 Months (billed every 12 months)
Subscription features, pricing, and availability are displayed on the Service and may be updated from time to time.
4. Free Trials
We may offer free trials for paid subscription plans.
- Free trials provide temporary access to paid features
- A valid payment method may be required to start a trial
- Unless cancelled before the trial period ends, the subscription will automatically convert into a paid subscription
- Your payment method will be charged immediately upon trial expiration
Trial duration and conditions may vary and are communicated at sign-up.
5. Payments and Billing
5.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment service provider.
By submitting your payment information, you authorize Termin.world and Stripe to charge your selected payment method in accordance with your chosen subscription plan.
Payment processing is subject to Stripe's Services Agreement, Privacy Policy, and other applicable Stripe terms. Termin.world does not control and is not responsible for Stripe's services.
5.2 Billing Authorization
By starting a paid subscription or a free trial that converts into a paid plan, you expressly authorize recurring charges:
- At the price shown at the time of purchase
- For the selected billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, or yearly)
- Including applicable taxes, where required by law
This authorization remains in effect until the subscription is cancelled.
5.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
By purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that:
- Automatic renewal is enabled by default
- Your payment method will be charged at the beginning of each renewal period
- No separate confirmation is required for each renewal
You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5.4 Failed Payments
If a payment cannot be successfully processed:
- We may attempt to re-charge your payment method
- Access to paid features may be temporarily suspended
- Continued payment failure may result in subscription downgrade or termination
5.5 Taxes
Subscription prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or charges, except where we are legally required to collect them.
5.6 Refunds
Payments are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
This includes:
- Subscription fees
- Automatic renewals
- Unused portions of a billing period
EU Consumer Rights: If you are an EU consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, unless waived by starting the digital service immediately, where permitted by law.
6. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities conducted through your account
You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes
- Circumvent technical limitations or subscription restrictions
- Reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or exploit the Service
- Interfere with system security or functionality
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, software, trademarks, and materials provided through Termin.world are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. User Content
If you upload or create content within the Service:
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display such content solely for providing and improving the Service
10. Availability and Changes to the Service
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service.
We may:
- Temporarily suspend access for maintenance or updates
- Modify or discontinue features
- Change technical requirements
We are not liable for any interruptions caused by maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access:
- If you violate these Terms
- If required by law
- To protect the integrity of the Service
You may stop using the Service at any time.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
We make no warranties regarding:
- Continuous availability
- Accuracy of content
- Learning outcomes or performance improvements
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service during the preceding 12 months
14. Privacy and Cookies
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how personal data is collected and processed.
15. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures, network outages, natural disasters, or governmental actions.
16. Assignment
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or business transfer.
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Estonia, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
